蓮  花
 
 
 我盤腿打坐度過了
 許多寧靜無望的暗夜。
 我呼吸著人的一吐一納——
 哦世界？它幾乎不存在。
 
 另一個世界存在……
 另一些風，另一些犧牲的羔羊，
 另一些面孔，但也未必活生生……
 總之，它們屬於另一個空間。
 
 打開的雙掌，是我僅有的兩朵蓮花。
 你說它們生長，但朝哪個方向？
 你說它們趕路，但想抵達哪里？
 
 我只是在學習遺忘——
 好讓偌大的宇宙不被肉眼瞥見。

 LOTUS
 
 
 I have spent many tranquil and desireless nights
 Sitting with my legs crossed in meditation.
 I breathe a human’s breath—in and out—
 Eh, world? It hardly exists.
 
 Another world exists…
 Other winds, other sacrificial lambs,
 Other faces, not necessarily lively…
 In other words, they belong to another space.
 
 I spread my hands, the only two lotuses I own.
 You say they are growing—but in what direction?
 You say they are on their way—but where to reach?
 
 I’m merely learning to forget—
 Let that huge universe be unseen by eyes of flesh.

 安  寧
 
 
 我想寫出此刻的安寧
 我心中枯草一樣馴服的安寧
 被風吹送著一直升向天庭的安寧
 我想寫出這住宅社區的安寧
 汽車開走了停車場空蕩蕩的安寧
 兒童們奔跑奶奶們閒聊的安寧
 我想寫出這風中的清亮的安寧
 草莖顫動著噝噝響的安寧
 老人褲管裏瘦骨的安寧
 我想寫出這泥地上濕乎乎的安寧
 陽光鋪出的淡黃色的安寧
 斷枝裂隙間乾巴巴的安寧
 我想寫出這樹影籠罩著的安寧
 以及樹影之外的安寧
 以及天地間青藍色的安寧
 我這麼想著沒功夫再想別的
 我這麼想著一路都這麼想著
 佔據我全身心的，就是這
 ——安寧

 TRANQUILITY
 
 
 I want to write this moment’s tranquility,
 my inner tranquility like a humble dried grass,
 the tranquility flying to the heavens in the wind.
 I want to write this neighborhood’s tranquility,
 the empty tranquility in the parking lot after all the cars have gone,
 the tranquility of grandmas chatting while the kids running.
 I want to write a clean and bright tranquility in this wind,
 the rushing tranquility of shivering grass,
 the skinny tranquility in the trousers of an old man.
 I want to write the wet tranquility of the earth,
 the yellowish tranquility spread by sunshine,
 the dry tranquility among the broken twigs.
 I want to write the tranquility under the shadow of a tree
 and the tranquility beyond the shadow
 and the blue and greenish tranquility between sky and earth.
 Thus thinking, I have no time to think of other things.
 Thus thinking, I think of this all the way.
 It is just the tranquility which
 occupied my mind.
