 雙手有力，準確
 他進入事物，令我震動、驚悚
 
 而嚴冬將至
 一個劈木柴過冬的人，比他肩胛上的冬天
 更沉著，也更
 專注
 
 ——斧子下來的一瞬，比一場革命
 更能中止
 我的寫作
 
 我抬起頭來，看他在院子裏起身
 走動，轉身離去
 心想：他不僅僅能度過冬天

 FOR THE WINTER
 
 
 A man chopping firewood for the winter
 Could bring greater vitality to the winter
 Than a ray of faint sunshine
 
 A man chopping firewood for the winter
 His hands are powerful and accurate
 He stirs, even shocks me to get into things
 
 And a severe winter is coming
 A man chopping firewood for the winter
 More composed and dedicated than the winter
 Above his shoulder
 
 --A single blow of an axe, more than a revolution
 Could put a stop
 To my writing
 
 I raise my eyes and watch him stand straight
 Then turn around to leave
Thinking: he could get through more than just winter
